Balenciaga, Gucci, Miu Miu & Diesel Are The Hottest Fashion Brands

In the second episode of data verifying what we knew all along—the first being that second hand shoppers are actually more stylish than their retail loving counterparts—luxury fashion maison Balenciaga is proven to be the hottest fashion brand in the world.
According to a new report by fashion commerce platform and data aggregator Lyst, data concluded that Balenciaga is currently leading the charge as the most desirable label with demand for the brand spiking 108% this quarter.

Of course, for fashion fanatics this news should come as no surprise.

Balenciaga has been a mainstay within the top five of the hottest fashion brands in Lyst’s quarterly reports before finally claiming the number one rank in Q3 of 2021—a position they’ve maintained ever since

While Demna’s courtley FW/21 haute couture presentation and cartoonishly campy SS/22 collection were enough to propel the luxury label to covetable status, their dystopian Fall/Winter 2022 show certainly proved the brand is more than just a one trick pony.

The literal snowstorm of a show poetically channeled the somber state of the world and cultural anxieties while simultaneously acting as a beacon of hope for the future. It was profound in every state of the word.

Lyst also attributes the brand’s viral campaigns featuring Kim Kardashian and Justin Beiber along with the truffula tree-inspired Bond Street store as contributions to their ranking.

Familiar faces including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Valentino also made an appearance in the top five hottest brands.

Denim darling Diesel debuted as number 15 within the top 20 fashion brands, a considerable jump considering their number 47 ranking last quarter. They’ll have Glenn Martin’s Y2K inspired FW/22 collection and legions of loyal celebrities brand advocates to thank for that.
As a surprise to no one, Miu Miu’s micro mini skirt from their SS/22 collection debuted as the third hottest product of the quarter. Taking out the top-spot was the TikTok approved Naked Wolfe knee-thigh heeled boots, with the Coastal Grandma-esque and “rich mum” Ugg boot coming in second place.

Interestingly enough, footwear makes up 12 out of the 20 top products this quarter, so there’s no better time than now to invest in a pair. We’ll be taking a page out of David Bowie’s book and putting on our shoes and dancing the blues.

As for what we’ll see next quarter? We predict the Prada tank tops and Bella Hadid-inspired cargo skirts to make an appearance, and of course look to the runways of Afterpay Australian Fashion Week for more clues.
