“Even though you are gone…. NOTHING has or ever will change. You will FOREVER be my inspiration and fashion icon. Even more than that the ultimate model of being a true LIGHT in a dark world. You are sunshine,” Cyrus wrote alongside a series of photos and videos of her grandmother.

One video features Finley getting interviewed on a red carpet. She was asked by the reporter what he should call her. Her response: “Mammie.”

“She is the fiercest person I know, that is all I know, she is my inspiration and fashion icon,” Cyrus says in the video when the reporter mentioned he had a “lovely conversation with my new friend Mammie.”

Cyrus said she will always think of her grandmother.

“Everyday I wake and see that fiery ball in the sky I will see your face. Then say a prayer thanking heaven above for giving me the best grandmother a girl could ever be gifted. I will miss you for the rest of my life,” the 27-year-old artist wrote. “I will keep your spirit here by continuing to do good for others and treating them the way we all desire to be treated. With an infinite amount of the same gentle kindness you displayed daily. We will ache everyday you are not with us.”

Cyrus also shared a photo of her and her grandmother baking with Snoop Dogg and revealed an interesting anecdote.

Cyrus captioned the photo. ” data-reactid=”24″>”Mammie baking brownies with @snoopdogg ….. she never knew they had weed in them… I will miss you and your good cookin’ so much,” Cyrus captioned the photo.

Finley’s death comes at an already tumultuous time for the artist, mainly the media attention surrounding her separation from actor husband Liam Hemsworth (“The Hunger Games” franchise) less than a year after they wed. The pop star’s subsequent relationships with reality star Kaitlynn Carter and singer Cody Simpson were ravenously followed and picked apart on social media.

She gave fans an intimate glimpse into her life in her Aug. 14 release of “Midnight Sky.”
