About this time las calendar year (wow! It was that very long ago, I just seemed it up!!) I was questioned to be part of a team exhibition of artists that were being either inspired by or worked together with the river Severn. I pretty much mentioned no, as I usually viewed to be wholly snowed less than with commissions and never ever get any time to make anything other than that.
I did not say no though…I determined to commit to carrying out anything, that had develop into just a little outside the house my ease and comfort zone. I joined the Severn Sisters and we set on our very first exhibition at 7Q Gallery in Chepstow.
The exhibition appeared great and rather superior profits were manufactured, but I want to notify you about our “second” event….Open up House……
It was all the brave concept of Annie Brennan, who we have now all named our “mother superior”. An notion dependent all around identical exhibitions that she’d visited/heard of in metropolis centres – all of the “sisters” putting on an exhibition in excess of a weekend, in her residence. So, after some conferences, some snacks and a several beverages, with no advertising funds and no concept if any individual would occur, we made a decision to go for it!
Well… I feel the only text to explain this previous weekend are resounding good results!! For me though, the true good results has been finding this wonderful team of ladies (and a person token gentleman of study course) that have just been so supportive to just about every other through the organisation and the actual celebration. Theres of course been hugs, but to be straightforward, it feels like the Severn Sisters are just 1 big continuous hug. We’re all different ages, from distinct destinations and backgrounds and have distinct views, likes and dislikes, and which is unquestionably alright.
