These new styles will certainly indulge all of your spring and summer fantasies — we’re talking ruffled, smocked dresses à la Kate Middleton and quite a number of risqué swimsuits à la… we’ve been in a pandemic long enough, so time to start wearing whatever you want.
First up on the list is a handful of very trendy styles from The Drop, Amazon’s in-house collection designed by influencers. If you haven’t tried this brand yet, there is no better time to do so. The Drop is surprisingly full of high-quality gems and its latest pieces, like this cropped boxy blazer and colorful, oversized button-down dress, don’t disappoint. These loose-fit paper bag jeans should also be an immediate addition to your cart — they’re made with 100 percent cotton, have a stretchy waistband, and come in three perfect-for-spring colors.
Something that’s hard to miss in this batch of new clothing is the amount of floral dresses that feature smocked bodices and ruffled details. A fun style I saw on repeat was an off-the-shoulder smocked design with a tiered ruffle hem. Will this be the “it” dress this season? Only time will tell. This Kirundo option is a steal at $27; it looks more expensive than it is (I mean, it’d probably cost a solid $78 at J.Crew) and comes in several floral prints and solid colors.
If you’re traveling soon and in the market for a new bathing suit, it seems like colorblocked, strappy, and tiny swimsuits are in. Swimwear brand Summer Mae — best known for its supportive and modest coverage options on Amazon — dropped a slew of sexy one- and two-pieces. At first, options like this strappy leopard suit or this one-shoulder, low-rise bikini set might make you think, “I can’t pull that off,” but the question is, why not? If it calls out to you, I say try it — this year is all about taking style risks, after all.
